Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best stone for kitchen, bathroom or laundry benchtops?
Natural stone such as marble and granite are perfectly suited for use in benchtops. As well as the design appeal, natural stone is low maintenance and suits most settings.
How visible are the joins?
Most benchtops over three metres would have visible joins. This depends on the type of stone used and the type of grout/joiner or adhesive. Though some joins can be virtually invisible, but may show up more if there is dirt, debris or liquid build-up.
Do I need to be on-site while work is being carried out?
It is important that you are available on-site when templating and fitting is done. This will ensure that any issues or requirements can be discussed and handled immediately, and the project can be completed and signed off.
What is involved during the templating process?
It’s important to make sure that your appliances and fittings—such as sinks, hotplates, basin and taps—are on-site at the time of templating to ensure a perfect fit. It’s also important to ensure that the sink is appropriately supported during the installation process, particularly if you’re planning on installing a waste disposal unit.
